Comments Thread For: Chavez-Vera 2: If No HBO, Could Land on Pay-Per-View

The controversial decision in last weekend’s fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Brian Vera had barely set in before all the parties involved got to talking about a rematch so as to settle the score.

And while Bob Arum of Top Rank (which promotes Chavez) and Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions (which promotes Vera) both say that they’ve been talking to HBO about a date in December, each also says that the rematch could still be made even if HBO doesn’t buy it.

LMAO PPV. I dont know how to feel about this on one hand im happy because vera deserves a rematch and another big payday but PPV? It disgusts me that i'd shell out money and it would go to that unprofessional slob chavez Jr but then again I'm a boxing a junky so I'd probably pay but it better only be like 19.95.

This is hilarious. If it was put on PPV, this fight wouldn't sell 1,000 PPVs, although Arum would claim it sold 400,000.

Lmao what a joke. And the genius nsbers always claim showtimes budget is shot. But bob basically just told you hbo doesn't have room for it to be on hbo this year

In no way, shape, or form does Chavez or Broner deserve to be on PPV... I predict both will fail miserably! Chavez stunk out the joint in his 1st PPV shot... Broner has never beaten any1 of note to warrant fighting on PPV. As far as im concerned Broner should still be fighting on HBO BAD cards and not even on HBO World Championship Boxing
