Trout is just a tough matchup, he did well. For an aging fighter a bad night like that could b a bad indicator, but I'm hoping not. That might have been the worst Cotto i've ever seen...whiffing completely on body shots ffs. Couldn't believe it. I thought he was putting himself in good positions via footwork, but Trout knows what he's doing so it handcuffed Miguel a bit and when he did get off, he was missing more than ever before. Not nearly the amount of speed of snap on his shots as against Floyd....he didn't really take a bad beating in that fight so if it was conditioning, bad gameplanning, tough matchup...then he should b able to beat Delvin.

I think this fight will resemble the yuri foreman fight before he injured his knee, delvin has length, ok footwork, and can pump his jab when he's paying attention, before he starts to get hit. Maybe for about 4 rounds. Foreman was starting to land his right hand in that fight and Delvin has a decent one with more power, I think he will start to land it. I'm glad Roach is in the corner because I think cotto will need to be told that he needs to pick up the urgency to hurt and win the fight in the later rds.

It's funny when people bring up cotto taking a knee. There's a point when your body can't take anymore especially when you are fighting someone with illegal plaster.

This, but Delvin in an upset win. This fight might mean more to Delvin than Cotto. Delvin has the style to out box a plodding Cotto.

I don't think he fought with plaster but about Cotto taking a knee don't take it so personal. Great trainers will tell their fighters to take a knee if they in trouble, give some time to recuperate. Times change and views change, taking a knee to buy some time isn't a bad idea sometimes.

It's not THAT funny. Cotto has lost two in a row and he's switched trainers yet again. He needs a fight like this to try to get his mojo back. Nothing is going to be easy for Cotto at 154 - unless he's fighting someone feather-fisted (Foreman) or a has-been (Mayorga). Rodriguez is a tall, awkward opponent and is coming off of two knockouts. That style could give Cotto trouble. And people are less likely to bash Cotto because he tends to carry himself with a certain degree of integrity, has earned every shot he's gotten and has paid his dues in blood.

Amen. That's the point the bashers ignore.

Canelo is deep into the middleweight division already... Canelo will never call for a FMJr fight again...
