Arum has been doing Latin Fury PPVS with Chavez Jr for a long time with way worse opponents. People will buy it. All it has to get is like 100k buys (even less is needed), and they'll make just as much money as what HBO would pay them.

I'm well aware of this, but I'm talking specifically about this match-up.

ESPN Deportes interviewed fans coming out of the Arena the night of this fight, mostly Mexicans, and most said Chavez lost, and weren't happy with the decision.

Now, obviously, that's mostly anecdotal evidence, and nothing concrete. But I don't think many of the people who would've supported a Chavez-Vera I (if it had been on PPV), will support a Chavez-Vera II on PPV.

Whatever popularity hit he got from this fight, he's still a ton more popular today than when he was fighting on Latin Fury PPVS. And those got upwards of 90k buys. And like Arum said, people love watching trainwrecks. They'll pay for it.

lol Bob spoke nothing but truth in that interview. It's cool TR want to do the rematch in Vera's backyard. I think he deserves that after all the crap he put up with pre-fight.
