If you hear the name Ali Raymi, you will most probably ask ‘Ali, who?’ Well, boxing fans,
Ali Raymi is a 39-year-old Yemeni strawweight boxer, who on Tuesday scored his 19th straight first round knockout at the National Sports Stadium in Sanaa, Yemen. Ali, who has fought 15 times this year and 5 times within the last 30 days, has now tied Philly clubfighter Tyrone Brunson’s record and should lethal Ali score another one round knockout over his next hapless victim, he will be entering the professional boxing history books. Will the world outside of the desert land of Yemen ever be able to witness evidence of Ali’s atomic fists? Or is your best bet YouTube? Time will tell.
Roman Gonzalez: "I'm not impressed with you Raymi. Come up to light flyweight and I'll come down and meet you. I finish you faster than Omar Soto, dirty Arab."
Says a lot that this guy is getting so much hate already. For all the keyboard warriors moaning about his technique, this sport isn't about doing everything by the book, it's about writing your own page in history and Ali has already done that.
Secondly, if you can find a textbook boxer who has crumpled 19 consecutive rounds then you might be in a position to criticise this guy.
