I don't know about that. Afraid probably isn't the right term but he always gets defensive and uptight when the fight is brought up. Contrast with Carl Froch, who's like, 'whatever, bring it on'. Forgetting the hype or praise Golovkin gets, Ward just doesn't seem that keen on the bout. I favour Ward to win btw.

He has never once said that though, that's something you've inferred. You're right though, he does get uneasy.

Ward knows his boxing inside out, so I think would he have respect for Golovkin who has a phenomenal amateur record. For whatever reason though, Ward doesn't seem that keen on the fight. Maybe it's money, and he just doesn't want to say it.

Ward has less reach, less power, less punch output, less connect % less amatuer wins, less pro wins, and he likely has less of a chin. If he isn't just a little bit afraid I would be shocked.
