A few weeks ago, the World Boxing Council ordered Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Marco Antonio Rubio to fight each other for the WBC interim-middleweight title, where the winner would get a shot at champion Sergio Martinez.
Rubio's promoter Reginaldo Küchle, the director of Promociones del Pueblo, is now convinced Chavez will never return to the middleweight division - after Chavez failed to make 168-pounds for last Saturday fight with Bryan Vera. Chavez fought Vera at a catch-weight of 173-pounds, which the boxers agreed upon only three days before the match.
