Comments Thread For: Vera's Promoter To File Protest With CSAC Over Scores

A formal protest will be presented to the California State Athletic Commission in the coming days, Banner Promotions promoter Artie Pelullo told Boxingscene.com on Saturday night.

Pelullo stated he will protest the three judges' scorecards that had Julio Cesar Chavez winning a 10 round decision over Bryan Vera at the Stubhub Center in Carson on Saturday night.

Vera is promoted by Banner Promotions.

Banner Promotions will likely submit video of the fight to the commission that was broadcast on HBO in the United States or media outlets in Mexico and abroad.

The three judges' scorecards have been the subject of criticism on social media sites since Sunday night. Most members of the media in attendance had Vera winning the fight or had the fight a draw.

Much as I agree and feel bad for them. It's like pick a # and get in line. This stuff will continue to go on until boxing is governized which will prolly never.

CSAC: That will cost $$$____________.00. Make the check out to CSAC

          Banner: Here is your check

It wasn't anything close to that controversial.

Oh god. He lost a close fight, get over it. He put himself in line for another HBO appearance. STFU, and he'll be paid handsomely to get the hell beaten outta him as Martinez's tune-up opponent or a stay busy opponent for GGG.

What's truly sad, is that we have to differentiate between close and obvious controversial decisions. In the end, they're both the same.
