Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr: I'll Probably Hire Roach For My Next Fight

On Saturday night, in Carson, Calif., former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was given a tougher-than-expected fight from gritty challenger Brian Vera inside of the StubHub Center.

Chavez vs. Vera was an entertaining affair that saw Vera outhustle Chavez in several rounds while Julio appeared to land the more telling and powerful blows throughout the contest.

After ten rounds of action, scorecards reading 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94 were all in Chavez’s favor despite several ringside observers seeing the fight for Vera.

i hope roach tells him to eff off followed by him losing his next fight. chavez is a joke, if you suck, the least you could do is act like a professional but he cant even do that. he dragged a middleweight up to light heavyweight and still barely won. his next fight will be in a weight class that's TBA until he steps on the scales the day before the fight.

"I'll probably hire Roach for my next fight".He speaks as if Roach is just some up and coming trainer who he can whistle at he'll come running,if I was Roach I wouldn't waste 2 seconds on this spoiled brat.It really is astonishing that a fighter as accomplished as Cotto adheres to all of Roach's demands without a problem, but a guy who's defining achievement is being the seed of legend thinks he can treat a hall of famer like crap.

Roach won't do anything... he had no luck with Chavez's lazy ass last time, what makes him think he'll have success now?
I don't know who his trainer was this time, but he did a horrible job

I hope Roach tells him to **** off, his time should be spent on fighters willing to learn, alas money talks.

Lol...this guy is a trip. He acts as if trainers are at his disposal. Roach will take the job if the price is right. Chavez is the guy bringing money so he's the boss. He still ain't as bad as cotto though.

Seriously. I don't know why Roach would want a repeat of this bull****.
