am i the only one who thinks chavez deserves it for the big shots? vera was missing a lot and most of his shots were getting blocked or pitty pats.Comment

There were a few rounds I could see going to Chavez for landing the harder shots. Round 7 Vera was in control until he got stunned in the last few secondsComment

Chavez' eyes would indicate a fair number landed as well. Chavez was simply outworked and his shots weren't powerful enough to make up for it.Comment

The problem is, Jr does actually have talent...
Tonight's fight was a classic case of when hard work meets talent when talent doesn't work hard.Comment

This decision is why the credibility of boxing is where it is. Everyone sitting at the arena and watching on a television can clearly see who won the fight but three judges sitting ringside cant?
The governor of California and the Association of Boxing Commissions needs to step in and correct this travesty. You've had people who spent good money to watch a contest between two fighters and the outcome was clear for everyone watching except the judges. The judges needs to be banned from ever judging a fight again.
Everyone knows that Chavez Jr is Top Rank's fighter and the son of Julio however judges are supposed to be impartial and clearly these judges weren't.
They have judging seminars and I've attended some and some of the judges there couldn't score a fight correctly and were still allowed to judge a fight. It's ridiculous and until there's a system that accurately identifies a judges ability to correctly judge then the judge shouldn't be issued a license.
Furthermore, the commissions needs to step up and remove incompetent judges and overturn bad decisions to bring credibility to boxing. This has to stop. The people in boxing fought hard against a Federal overseer and wanted to police itself and haven't stepped up. For the love of this sport, please step up and do what's best for boxing.
Please everyone write the governor of California and have him look into reversing this bad decision.
In order for evil to prevail, good men sit back and do nothing. Let's not sit back. For the love of the sport we love, boxing.Comment

HBO commentary was ******ly bias. Lampley kept reminding us that Chavez was landing the "harder, telling blows." Sure, two a round oughta do it. I honestly thought Vera had won when they read the 98-92 scorecard...SMH.Comment
