Marquez looked much, much fitter against Pac in the third fight than he did against Mayweather in 09'. Marquez was already working with Heredia for the third Pacquiao fight and already had at least one 147 fight under his belt.

Against Mayweather, Marquez only had 1 fight at lightweight prior to moving up to 147, so he was essentially moving up 3 divisions to fight Mayweather.

Floyd fought Judah in his 2nd fight at WW. Meanwhile, Judah had been a WW for 2 years, he wasn't smaller than Floyd. Even the commentators were saying Judah should impose his size.

Marquez couldn't clown Norwood and John even though they were evenly matched physically.

no he didn't.............people overrated his fitness in the 3rd fight but in realty he was around the same level of fitness as he was with mayweather. he had just moved with herdia so herdia was only able to make minor tweaks. in the 4th fight is where his physical fitness was actually dramatically changed (although he looked slow and bulked down) him being in much greater fitness in the 3rd fight is a big fat myth. not to mention the 3rd fight was almost 2 years later after the mayweather bout.
