Stevenson is an idiot. Using his own logic, who did he beat to warrant a shot at Dawson then????? Stevenson would have never gotten a shot at the title if someone had said the same thing about him and dismissed him. What an a$$hole but we knew that already about him. Kovalev has beaten better fighters than he did before he got a shot at Dawson. And it didn't take Kovlev TWO fights with Darnell Boone to get a win over him so *** Stevenson!!!!!

hehe Actually he kinda did. He was given a SD win the first time around, but even Kovalev believes he got lucky for that verdict, which is why Kovalev fought him again.

Actually it was hometown cooking for Atlanta native Darnell Boone where the fight was held. Kovalev was only disappointed because he wanted to do better but it was no split decision. He clearly won by 2 points but in the other guys hometown.

In the rematch... Boone held him to a Split Decision in the first fight (which, to me, means he unofficially beat Kovalev because journeymen don't get split decisions against undefeated prospects unless they've actually won) and this is fighting as a Lt. Heavyweight when he can probably make Middleweight (but because he's a journeyman, he takes on everyone that pays him decent money).

I don't agree with Adonis' stance though. Kovalev has beaten 2 top 10 Lt. Heavyweights so he shouldn't have to fight another to deserve a shot at the lineal title. Kovalev is a good fighter, but if he makes the mistake of fighting Hopkins, he would lose.

That is nullified by the fact that it was in Boone's backyard and since Kovalev wasn't even a name, he doesn't get any free points. He outboxed Boone and threw the harder and more accurate punches. The knockdown is the only thing that made it a closer fight but Kovalev clearly beat him and the bottom line is Kovalev didn't need 2 fights to beat Boone. Stevenson was given the Dawson fight off of not having beat a top fighter and yet he is the one pointing this at Kovalev who has beaten a top fighter.

I look forward to the day Stevenson is being counted out. Hopefully sooner than later. He needs some good payback for enslaving young women and girls and treating them like pure garbage. Personally, I would love to see him get knocked out so hard his leg quivers. Actually, he is he only fighter I would like to some day see carried out in a stretcher.
