Comments Thread For: Arthur Abraham Faces Giovanni De Carolis On 10/26 Bill

Arthur Abraham already had his next fight date secured, but now has a dance partner for the October 26 session in Oldenburg, Germany. Italy's Giovanni De Carolis has been tabbed as the opponent of choice for the former two division champion's next bout.

"Finally there is clarity for me," said Abraham. "Now I will have to study my next opponent on tape together with my coach Ulli Wegner."

De Carolis (20-4, 10KO) enters the fight riding an eight-fight win streak. However, the showdown with Abraham - even a well past-prime version - marks a massive leap in competition and also his first ever fight outside of Italy.

Abraham (37-4, 28KO) is coming off of a struggling points win over Willbeforce Shihepo this past August, which marked his first appearance since a shocking knockout loss in his title fight rematch with Robert Stieglitz in March.

Wauw they are going easy on Abraham. Rightly so if they want to preserve a date with Stieglitz. AA is finished.

Yeah. I'm sure AA does not have the desire any longer. He went through a prolonged hold out with Sauerland before finally signing an extension. It was clear then, that the hunger for boxing had dimmed.

A shame. I really like him, but this has 'bad ending' written all over.

Abraham is finished as a top fighter, although I can't say if he was ever a top fighter at 168... The guy should have stayed at 160 where he belonged.
