Adonis Stevenson’s one-punch, first-round knockout of Chad Dawson made an unequivocal believer out of Dawson’s promoter.

After watching Stevenson demolish Dawson from his front-row seat June 8 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Gary Shaw is convinced the new WBC light heavyweight champion will knock out Tavoris Cloud in his first title defense Saturday night at Bell Centre.

“I don’t see it like Yvon sees it,” Shaw said, referring to Stevenson’s promoter, Yvon Michel. “I think it is an easy fight for Adonis ‘Superman’ Stevenson. I have seen Cloud fight. I was there, obviously, for the Dawson fight [against Stevenson]. I believe it is going to be an easy night for Adonis.

I'm still not sold on Stevenson, but we'll see how he performs this weekend. I thought he just caught Chad cold, which is the best time to catch him, because he's survived onslaughts late in his fights. We'll see if he can do the same to Cloud, even though I'm not a big fan of Clouds either.

I'd be surprised if he had an easy night with Cloud. I wouldn't be surprised if Cloud stops Stevenson late.

Stevenson is a one hit wonder. He's going to fade off into Bolivian.

Cloud has been terribly managed the last few years and I think a lot of his problems have been due to ring rust. Yes, he's looked a bit one-dimensional and has had problems with boxers, but Adonis isn't that skilled and Tavoris is a gritty, tough m00therfooker. I pick Cloud to out-work Stevenson to a decision or late stoppage if he's not caught with something early.

How does Shaw manage to get his claws into anyone that beats his fighters?. He must have superb negotiating skills.

Cloud beats him up and stops him. Then everyone will realize that it was a fringe contender winning the belt from another fringe contender.

agreed... Besides management.. Cloud's biggest problem is his trainer Al Bonani.. He should let AJ train him 100% or get someone better. Al is a joke.
