I personally don't believe the Jones story. Because Jones Sr. is not built like that and Jones Jr is not built as the story supposes he would turn out. The way it's told one would expect a basketball player.

I just had an ex pro boxer, who mostly fought locally, come into my job he found out I boxed and was into boxing as well and started telling a few things one thing he said was while he was boxing he met someone (he might of said it was Roy Jones dad) who told him that Roy Jones dad got with Roy JR's mom basically for selective breeding (i know its crazy it made me laugh) he said that Roys dad wanted a perfect boxer so he found a woman that was tall,slim with long arms or just a perfect specimen for boxing. I just thought I'd share if for nothing more than laughs I am sure it could be true but it just sounds so crazy to me. Has anyone else heard anything like this? Or have any other similar stories?

Not crazy to me, I was trying to do the same thing. Lol I once dated a girl who was 6'2, her mom was 6'0, her dad was 6'9, and she had a Grandpa that was 6'11. I just knew that if I had a kid with her that inherited her height genes and my athleticism it would be pretty much a guaranteed pro athlete. Lol. However she moved away before we could get serious.

Lol the guy telling me that said he did the same thing he said his son is like 6'1" 140 lbs and he didn't end up boxing but he's a talented baseball player. I def believe there's some instances of people actually doing this but I don't think thats how Roy Jones Jr was born. But who knows
