Like building an outdoor stadium, letting a cut heal, or asking for the lesser share just to make the fight happen for the fans, right?

Not sure what you mean by this. Had he fought Mayweather is 2010 there would have most likely been a rematch, maybe even a trilogy. Even if it was so one sided it didn't warrant a rematch Pac still would have been a PPV draw well after that. There is no shame in losing to Floyd and its not like Floyd would have gone for the KO.
Now a failed drug test would have been a different scenario but we will never know what Pac may or may not have been doing unless someone **** him out down the line (which may very well happen.)
Let's face it Arum pulls the strings and didn't want to make the fight out of spite for Floyd and Oscar/Golden Boy. Konz is Arum's guy and makes sure Manny does what he is told by Top Rank.

Manny seemed content with his decision until he and his team realized that the floyd canelo fight was going to be huge. Then Manny spoke up about them fightin, floyd being scared, etc.

In the end, Manny is a grown man who makes his own decisions. He used his leverage in the beginning and for a while had public opinion on his side. As time has passed even the biggest floyd hater realizes that the excuses form his team about "needle fear" and "drawing blood weakens me" were bull**** excuses.

Floyd 's star continued to rise, while Manny's fell. They were once seperated by about 3-5 mil a fight. Now floyd will make roughly 4 times what many made at his apex.

In retrospect maybe the ped testing wasn't that big a deal.
Don't forget building a new stadium, or how he could fight in May then Floyd got extension from Judge, then a cut wouldn't allow him to fight til June when Floyd had to be in jail. Pacs camp hasn't even been able to keep the same story. Bob says one thing, Freddie another, Kuntz(yes I know spelling) another and Manny "u need to ask my promoter" Pacquiao another.

Bob Arum destroyed this fight plain and simple.

I'll believe the guy that made the call. He said he offered him 40 guar without even getting a chance to get into the backend. Ill say thats a huge upgrade over the 6 to 8 he's been getting.

Floyd lost out on Millions too.

There's no fight he can have now until he retires that would've made him as much money in one night.

Not only that, but how was Manny making $100 mill when Floyd only wanted Pac to get a $40 mill guarantee w/out any revenue sharing?

True but at least the Showtime contract helps recoup it.

I understand your point but its not exactly the same. Floyd just fought Canelo and will make $80-100 mil. Conventional wisdom was he could only do that with Manny. That was wrong.

Manny though has no on he can make this money with at the moment. He doesn't have anyone he can fight to make what floyd made against Ghost.

Yes and No. As the Canelo fight showed, he STILL does need a popular dance partner the public can sorta get behind. Canelo was an undefeated, young, big and strong kid who seemed like he posed a major threat and he made him look like an amatuer. Now if you look at the landscape of who he can fight, who else really brings that excitement? People do love seeing Floyd fight, but based on how open Showtime was with giving out the PPV numbers for the Canelo fight and not the Guerrero fight show me the dance partner DOES count as to how the public will embrace Floyd's fights.

I'm not so sure Floyd will get a record breaking guarantee again facing the likes of Alexander or Khan. If Pacquiao still continues to win and in impressive fashion, that still is Floyd's biggest payday, maybe more than the Canelo fight.

I think the original post is refering to the original and only official negotiations. The split was 50-50 at the time. Top Rank walked over drug testing after a mediator was called in to try and make the fight.

Pacquiao later "agreed" to drug testing I principle but never took part in it until ironically getting knocked out. It seems getting put to sleep finally woke him up.
