Yea, I don't see how this is any different from a KO Kings card.
It's only PPV because they're trying to make Broner into a PPV star since they think he's a Mayweather clone.Comment

It's bad when it's gotten to the point where people accept paying (extra) money for something like this.
Unlike some of the bad PPV's of the past like JMM/Diaz II, Barrera/Juarez, Cotto/Judah, etc. Broner has not shown the ability to have big crowds or been in entertaining bouts in the past.
And yes the JMM/Bradley card is pathetic, but at least the main event is a very important and good fight.Comment

This is basically KO Kings III
They're only making this PPV because they want to push Broner as a PPV star.... pretty much the big reason why I don't want to buy it now. Was interested before.... good card though, Showtime has been good at that latelyComment

The undercard is to satisfy us (hardcore boxing supporters) and the media, not necessarily for the majority of people that are going to be buying this because of Broner. You could replace Broner-Maidana with either of those 2 undercard fights and the card probably wouldn't break 100K PPV (we can look at the history of PPV cards with fighters and fights similar to Gonzalez-Mares II or Thurman-JSK headlining the card as reference). Matter of fact, without Broner headlining, it's a Latin Fury card.
If this card sells over 300K, Broner is well on his way to becoming a PPV star (anything over 200K would be a decent figure really, if you take into account that Pacquiao and Cotto had PPV's selling around there unless they had a popular opponent).
Anyway... Setting up as a good undercard
