Comments Thread For: Groves Pleased With Adding Fitzpatrick as New Trainer

George Groves has added to the mystery of his split with Adam Booth by appointing Booth's former assistant Paddy Fitzpatrick as his new trainer ahead of his November 23 world title fight with Carl Froch.

Groves announced that Fitzpatrick will take over his training duties with immediate effect, saying: "I am extremely happy to name Paddy Fitzpatrick as my new trainer going into what is the biggest fight of my life.

"Paddy and I have worked closely together in the past and already have a very good relationship, one built over many years.

I really wanted Groves at his best. He's a good fighter but all these issues do not help? Froch is a good fighter and this makes the whole case very difficult for Groves.

Fitzpatrick has worked alongside some really good trainers... might be alright.

        *fingers crossed*

Going into a risky world title fight with someone as coldly professional, focussed and experienced like Carl Froch with a new, just-appointed head trainer and a whole load of rumours flying around about why you've made the switch and potentially distracting you when you need to be completely focuseed......good luck George, you'll need a lot of it son!

With just 2 months to go it doesn't look very professional. I'm deffinatlly going with Froch now.

Andre Ward set the blueprint for beating Froch -- stay close to his chest, work from inside, and nullify Carl's long arms.
But I don't know if Groves is able to copy "master" Ward...
