Comments Thread For: Top Rank: Cotto Reunion Brings Successful Orlando Show

It’s actually not been that long since Miguel Cotto last fought with Top Rank, the company with whom he began his pro career more than a dozen years ago.

His last bout under the promoter’s banner was a rematch with Antonio Margarito in December 2011, yet the rumor even before Cotto stepped into the ring back then was that Cotto would leave and seek a fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Immediately following Cotto-Margarito 2, Bob Arum of Top Rank said he didn’t think Cotto would be fighting for any promoter but him. [Click Here To Read More]

Great for Cotto for getting on his own. He needs to win this to continue on in his career. Delvin will definitely test him he's gonna put up a good fight. After this I want him in a big fight. He only has a few fights left I believe. War Cotto!!

This is a very ill-advised decision for Cotto IMO....Delvin isn't elite by far, but he is a decent boxer that throws bombs at dudes that don't move well. Plus the height disadvantage will be significant. If Cotto loses, his career is in serious danger of being over.

Should have put Rigo on the undercard. It's Florida.

Orlando is only like a 2 1/2 hour drive from Miami. I've driven much longer than that to catch an event plenty of times.

Should have... maybe he's trying to keep Rigo on the shelf long enough that he's stripped of a title and then hooking up another one of his fighters with it

Why would Bob spend over a half-million bucks to put on a guy that wont sell 50 tickets?
