I'm afraid to say the logistics of boxing, this fight is cancelled for minimum next year now. You cant simply move the fight back 2 - 4 weeks as there will be venue booking clashes. Sky is putting Froch v Groves on sky box office in November, which would be too close to put on either October or December, so 2014 is a definite. Sky has never double booked within 3-4 months of another ppv (bar these events of course). Seeing as this is a British fight no sky box means no fight for near future. If i Was Fury I would find a fight before end of October and stay active.

Oh what a coincidence, just when the weatherman predicted a furious storm.

Check out his other eye - got a massive shiner there too. What has happened is he has gone out in London, acted Billy Big Bollocks and got a hiding. Either that or he has been bottled. Suggested this on twitter and several names in the sport agree.

Kinda this^. The cut ain't BAD, bad, but definitely just bad enough to make it too much a risk of opening up after 1 week. I'd say 2-3 weeks (I've had more than my share of cuts around my eyes). It's possible a mid-October or late December date could be found, but as you say, very unlikely. Goddamit, David!

several fighters like to spar in the last week before a fight, hearns often sparred the day before a fight including his first fight with SRL which to your point was a huge fight.

you can get cut above your eye while wearing a headguard too, its unlikely and seldom happens but its far from impossible. ward got cut in more or less the exact same spot before his fight with froch leading to that fight being postponed, he was wearing a headguard.

besides, who exactly is going to give haye a hiding in some random pub or club? there are like 3 ppl capable of doing that in the whole world, the odds that haye ran into one of them is far less likely than being cut while wearing a headguard sparring with quality opposition. even a group of civilians arent gonna fight haye in the street, one punch and he could literally kill one of them.
