Olympic Games champion Katie Taylor may turn professional after what she feels was "a terrible year" for women’s boxing.
The Irish fighter could abandon a planned defence of her Olympic title in 2016, saying women's boxing has taken a step backwards.
Taylor, a superstar in her country, became one of the faces of the London Games last year by playing the lead role in women's boxing's Olympic Games debut.
She pledged to remain an amateur to compete in the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016 but she is now "flirting" with the pro ranks, laying the blame on boxing's governing body and the sport's Irish authorities.
