Welterweight Zeddie Adams was successful in his professional debut, winning a four round unanimous decision over Carlos Meraz. The Cleveland-based Adams beat the southpaw Meraz to the punch during most exchanges, whether he landed counter left hooks or lead right hands to the head. Meraz (1-1) tired by the third round and would get hit often when he pressed the action. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Adams, 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37.
