Cotto vs Canelo next after the Rodriguez fight...its the best option out there.. Cotto did better vs Mayweather and Canelo did better vs Trout.. it will be good to see Cotto fight Canelo...Pr vs Mex. Cotto wins!! Outboxes Canelo.

With the proper training by Roach, i can see Cotto being the small dude ripping everyones head off in 60 division.. just as Pacquiao was in his days..

He's already getting busted up from guys at 147, if he stays at 154 it's a matter of time before he gets ko.

I wish he would have fought Bundrage or Ishe Smith when they were carrying the IBF belt (instead of going on vacation), but that ship has sailed. Right now, he could fight Canelo at 154, maybe JMM or Bradley at a catchweight (150-52) or Martinez at a 156 catchweight (maybe even 155).

Financially, the best fight for him right now may be Canelo and it's one he could win. I could see that fight doing around 1 mil ppv's if Cotto looks good (and maybe stops) Delvin.

I think he is remembering getting down to 145 for Manny and thinks that is 147. I know it's only 2 pounds but it's a big difference, at 140 he looked awful in his last fight he didn't look pale and gaunt like he did before the Paulie fight. He can make 147, he doesn't have to he can make money at either division he doesn't want to put the extra effort of 147. I think he would do better but I can't hate on him too much he is still in great shape and he's earned a lot of money. That's what makes people like Hopkins, Manny and Mayweather so special they are in the gym all the time, Cotto simply doesn't have ATG work ethic. He also doesn't get that fat in between fights, 170 is really not that much for a guy his size. He is SOLID, with dense bones it isn't perfect shape but he is far from fat my pops is the same build as Cotto and weighs 165 and he is shredded.

Then again he could just be using this for leverage against any WW to meet him at 150. Cotto is pretty stubborn though and wouldn't come down to 150 even for Manny though he was getting hosed by Arum with the purse I think that was part of it. 1.5 million buys after Floyd and he looked GREAT and he offered 3 million dollars less than Floyd did AND ask for a catchweight. Anyway, I would rather see him against Marquez but I'll take a Sergio or Canelo fight as well Cotto played it smart business wise he has A LOT of options.
