Comments Thread For: Moreno's Manager Weighs Kameda, Santa Cruz Bouts

Rouss Laguna, manager and wife of WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (34-2-1, 12 KOs), claims that an offer was received to move up in weight to face World Boxing Council (WBC) super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (26-0-1, 16 KOs) on November 2, possibly at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The WBA has ordered Chemito to face WBA "regular" champion Koki Kameda (31-1, 17KOs) to set down one WBA champion at 118-pounds. But, last week Kameda lawyers sent a letter to the WBA to request permission for an optional fight in November, in Tokyo, Japan.

I'd like to see him take that title off Kameda and then fight Santa Cruz. Two good paydays for Chemito.
