Why the heavyweights division is the best for me

In the lower weights division you have all these weight divisons, where there's only a small weight difference between each division.

If a fighter weighs 6/7lbs more than another fighter, the smaller fighter would be like "No, i'm not gonna fight him, he's too big" and everyone agress with that. It is the thing to do. It is as if people think the guy 6/7lbs heavier will definitely beat the lighter guy.

While in the Heavyweight division, you can have a guy like David Haye, 6'3 and 210lbs fight a guy like Tyson Fury who is 6'9 and 254lbs. Haye has no problem fighting a much bigger guy, matter of fact he has more than a fair chance of beating Fury. That is why I like the heavyweight divison most, such diversity in sizes.

Plus there is that since it is 1 division, there is no fighters moving up in weight classes going for different belts, so it is the best against the best of the division all the time. A fighter can rack up multiple defences in a row. How many defences could Floyd or Oscar have made with their 135/140lbs titles? We will never know because the plan was to win a title at that weight, then move on.

Why I do not prefer the heavyweights athlete's fighting men with beer bellies and calling it a good win

    low punch output less action

guys swinging for the fences (going for a knock out on every shot)and not being punished for it with a good counter punch

stamina issues even when they only throw 30 punches a round they play more grab a$$ trying to catch their breath than they do punching

There are always exceptions but they are not the rule there is usually only a handful of even decent fighters who always fight bums who are way overhyped and the division is always perceived as being down when it is always down because thats just the way it is

I think it says more than enough about the current heavyweight division that such a small guy would be favourite against such a big guy. Not that it hasn't happened a lot of times throughout history, but if you look at the best of the top 10, Wlad, and number 10 Thompson/Solis - the gap in levels is incredible. Even the gap between top 5 and top 10.

The quality of the division is not good enough for me to even consider it being a top division. I do enjoy the odd heavyweight fight, but jesus there are some stinkers in there more than not.
