I'm a tolerant person but I just don't believe someone is "born" gay. Admit it, its a choice. There is no gay gene. Evolution says survival of the fittest. How did gay genes get passed on to the next gen if they're not trying to pro-create with the opposite sex. Bi-sexuals are proof that its a choice.

What if it is a mutation in a gene, those can be beneficial or harmful. Some people try to impose there ideas on others. Mainly the pro gays. If you don't think like them then you are wrong.

Perhaps in a species that has spent thousands of years being hunter/gatherers there might be a usefulness for a gay gene to evolve. And since it's seen all over the animal kingdom, there must be some explanation why it persists.

In primates, for example, it might be quite useful for a group of hunters to have fellow, able bodied males to stay back with the female gatherers to protect them and the land from intruders while the rest are gone and not have to worry that those males being in direct sexual competition for said females.

I mean, you can leave your fertile girl with a group of primitive (hetero acquintances while you go off for a couple of weeks to hunt bison...but what evolutionary sense would that make? How ****** would u be to do that.

I read that post and decided not to even touch the subject, since there are obviously some horribly ignorant people inserting their two cents on the matter. You just can't get through to people like that. It's a waste of time. But now that you've joined the discussion, I'm willing to jump back in.

I've heard the ridiculous statement that being gay is a "choice" several times. There are tons of people that believe that nonsense. There are a lot of things I can say about it; but for the sake of brevity, I'll just offer this one thought. Considering how terribly ****sexuals are treated all around the world, why would anyone "choose" to be gay? ****sexuals are regularly ridiculed, marginalized, discriminated against, beaten and even killed because of their sexual orientation. You've got gay kids committing suicide because of the non-stop taunting they receive in school. Sure sounds like a lot of fun....
