If he walks around at 150-153 and can't loose the water weight to get down to 140 then he is already dehydrated plus he should have died awhile ago from the super high blood pressure, it's common sense.
He can say whatever he wants, he hasn't been at 140 in a decade and didn't even make a 144 catchweight 4 years ago.

Floyd can't make 154 at his fighting best.

Middleweights will enter the ring at 170+ on fight night.

There really is a huge difference.

My thing is, if Floyd is big enough for MW, then he was always to big for the smaller man Pacquiao that they have tried to match him with over the last few years.

Yes, he is too small to "campaign" at MW. However, I would pick him to beat Martinez in a one-off. Sergio is similar in size to DLH, but obviously the reward isn't the same.

Oscar de la hoya won a title at 130 and later challenged hopkins at 160 for the title.

This is more about "not wanting" to take the risk at middleweight than it about "not being able" to.
oscar hopkins was at 158 not 160

There was a time when Mayweather claimed he was too small to fight the top welterweights too. According to Emanuel Steward and HBO it was why he retired and waited til they were gone. Mayweather was mad about the statements and said Steward was racist.

I think it is a good point, but they won't get it.
For Roy Jones Jr. it was about proving himself not protecting his record though. Mayweather never was like that.

                      1. Roy jones jr paid dearly for that trip to heavyweight. It ruined his career. 2. U honestly think Floyd can't go to middleweight and best a Ruiz esque guy like Darren Barker or Matthew macklin? It's not Roy fought the klitchskos or lennox lewis. He knew better. Floyd would get next to no credit for taking a trip to the division to beat some weak fringe titlist
