To people who go to live shows

What do you do to meet some of the boxers after the show?

Admittedly, I've only been to two and I usually just wait in hopes of seeing them in like the lobby or near their hotels.
Got close to meeting Rios once because I was talking to one of his friends, but I ended up not going to MSG for the Cotto/Marg 2 fight.

I met Donaire, Mikey and Robert and Narvaez too, but it consisted of me waiting outside their hotel for a while.

So, what do you guys do?

Early.... so I'll bump later. At the library doing homework and this popped in my head

I try to go to every A and B level fight in Cali and Vegas and have been doing so for about 25 years, if your looking to meet the fighters try to make it to the weigh in the day before because depending on how big the fight is there are normally some fighters there to see it and many times they are not even fighting on that card.

Sometimes the undercard fighters will find their way back into the arena to watch the rest of the card but the a list fighters after they fight are led out of the back door to the post fight presser (or to the hospital)

Dang, Can't make weigh ins because I usually do my trips the morning of the fight or the night of the weigh ins.

I think going to the fight early is good because sometimes fighters hang around the lobby with everybody else. I got to meet and talk with Kelly Pavlik while waiting for the doors to open. Really surprised nobody recognized him with all his tats everywhere.

I guess my best option is to hang around afterwards. My plan is to not stay overnight anyway and make a day trip of it

Doubt I'll meet him anytime soon since he might not come to the east coast again.

I've been able to chat some fighters at the weigh-in. I have also been lucky enough to stay at the same hotel as Tony Thomson and there I had an extended convo with him and his team. That was great.

It depends on where you are. I got pics with Triple G & Ward in Times Square after the Donaire fight. In Vegas you see them everywhere. In the Casinos, e****ally. For this fight I got pics with Floyd, Jeff, Molina, Mares, Santa Cruz, Hearns, Weeks, Zab, and more that I cant think of right now. Some guys I saw but I didnt go all out to get pics with them just because I have already before.

The best place to catch the fighters in Vegas is right past the press room after the fight. They block it off and make everyone stand behind the barracade but 90% of the fighters, trainers, etc come through there. Floyd always goes out back but mostly everyone else comes through and people gather right there.

The funny thing is if you are a die hard fan like we are, you can get pics with guys on the sneak because some guys walk right by people and no one notices. However, as soon as you take a pic then the flood will come and they will act like they are there biggest fans.....lol

I see Spence alone all the time. No one knows who he is. Theophane walked right past everyone through the crowd and no one knew. Same with Badu Jack. I got pics with all of them. No one knew who Stiverne was but as soon as I got one then everyone came.

MGM is loaded with fighters but some guys like Hearns may wanna stay away from the spotlight so sometimes its cool to visit the other casinos and you may spot them. I got Hearns at the Mirage. Also, for Floyd fights there is always a GBP card 2 or 3 nights before teh fight and everyone comes there. YOu can see alot of guys there. For the Ghost fight it was at the Cosmopolitan with Anthony Dirrell and Spence fighting.

For this one it was at the MGM with Porter vs Diaz and Jack fighting. People will be there. If you are going to a Floyd fight in Vegas, just try to go early. Dont wait for fight day. I love to go on Tuesday. Nothing better than soaking up fight week. Alot of guys will be there, e****ally on training day that Wednesday which is open to the public
