Kotelnik didn't get hyped for the same reason Matthysse didn't get hyped until this year; lack of opportunity. Matthysse got his chances against Ajose and Peterson and took advantage, he wasn't anything close to hyped after the Alexander fight. Kotelnik, unfortunately, didn't even fight again.
Since when do wins over those fighters make a fighter elite? Those wins made him worthy of being labeled as the second coming of Aaron Pryor? Give me a break. The truth always comes to light.

They didn't, and outside of a few people here and Matthysse's promoter, no one tried to say he was. Thinking he would beat Danny Garcia doesn't mean you think he's elite. Garcia isn't elite at this moment either. Maybe he will be some day, but he isn't right now.

So much fail in this post. Why are acting like posters all over NSB were hailing Lucas as the greatest thing since sliced bread. How is the undisputed champion at the junior welter weight division not elite? Do you have Garcia in your pound for pound top ten? I don't now how you can't consider Garcia an elite fighter at this point.

My standard for elite is probably higher than most. The only fighters I would call elite at this moment are Mayweather, Marquez, Wlad, and Ward. Rigo probably is as well, but I can't give him that recognition off of Donaire alone. If Pac can come back looking like normal, he qualifies as well, but I'm not sure where he'll be.

Fair enough, we just agree to disagree.
