Sometimes, some people go on about a 1 inch reach advantage like it will make all the difference

Being talls good but so is being short, it depends on your style.

Being tall is good for outside fighting and being short is good for inside, each serves it's on purpose.

It will be harder for a short man with a short reach to bounce around the ring popping the jab than it would be for a tall man. But easier for a short man to duck and keep his head down and moving forward....

Uppercuts work well with short people.

I dont matter much exept in heavy where you can weigh what you like.

In the other classes the shorter fight will be the compact and stronger fighter.

If you are tall and can box by using your size to your advantage yes it makes a big difference. Someoner like Valuev who has the ability to dominate has the size but does not have the skill or the boxing sense to dominate.

Being short and having a small reach can be an enormous advantage if you're smart enough. If you're not though, you get ****ed up.

Being tall is definitely overrated. Most tall fighters in the heat of battle forget to use it to their advantage - like Morales vs Barerra III. Tall = don't fight on the inside, use your reach and jab.
