There is plenty of room for Boxing on many networks. NBC's deal with Duva, Fox Sports Network with Golden Boy, ESPN etc etc. I find it sad that HBO has not be able to regain momentum in their Boxing format especially since Pac and Floyd went over to Showtime. Maybe HBO needs to re-think their programming? Are their hosts/announcers jaded? boring? egocentric? Is their Promotion department weak and not able to close? Management issues? Regardless of one's opinion or network preference i do however admire HBO for their willingness to strengthen their position and attempt to bring worthy matches to the Fans. Cotto vs. Martinez would be a great start so I guess the motto holds true that competition is good for business.
Cotto is really Boss, the only person smart enough to play showtime and HBO against eachother, Showtime aint want to give him big money for a easy touch so he ran to a HBO who is desperate for stars, then probably runs back to showtime for a Canelo match, since he didnt get locked into a long term deal, pure genius.....
Miguel Cotto has leverage, others don't, so it doesn't make him smarter than anyone else. I don't see what the big deal is. Cotto secured the best deal for himself, nothing for DiBella or other to complain about.
This article is really reaching for something that isn't there.

Well he's smart enough to know how to use his leverage. A fighter like pac had all the leverage in the world yet was too dumb to know how to use it
Cotto I'd the third highest ppv star and fought Pac and mayweather. yea ward is mad, but cottos not only been built up, he's been in 3 ppvs and is constantly relevant in the sport. Ward might be better, but cotto is by far the bigger star...
