He has barely changed his style at all. He fought Ishe Smith almost exactly the same way he fought Alvarado, and the Alvarado fight was very entertaining. What made last night bad Smith's spoiler tactics. You could be one of the most entertaining fighters in the world, but if the opponents holds you all day, it's going to be a terrible fight. This was the case in the Maidana vs Alexander fight where Aleander constantly held. This was the case in Rios vs Abril whre Abril clinched all day. And that was even the the case in the Molina vs Kirkland fight, where Molina held all day. And finally, this was the case where Ishe Smith clinched the entire fight. It's pretty damn obvious who was to blame in all those fights. I don't see how it isn't obvious in the Molina vs Smith fight.

Do people REALLY think he should have allowed Kirkland to get off in that fight? Smothering, clinching and negating his offense gave him the best opportunity to win.

You see Kirkland dropped him when he was finally able to land.
Nobody saying he should just open up and take punches... but when you're only throwing a small amount of punches each round mainly due to hugging another man... then maybe the fight should have been avoided to begin with.

If Cintron found a way to deal with Angulo, I'm sure Molina could have managed to with Kirkland.

Yes. That aside Ishe pulled an Ishe and deserved to lose.

I can buy that. He could have been more offensive in between the clinching and smothering.
