Do you all still think Cotto is Shot Now....

After watching Canelo get schooled for 12 rounds last night I will say this....I told people that Cotto wasn't shot, he simply lost to the best fighter on earth and was more competitive than anybody. The Trout fight was simply a stylistic nightmare for Cotto, and Trout's size and height were too much for Cotto to overcome even though the fight was closer than is was scored. Cotto isn't even a full fledged JMW, so fighting a true JMW southpaw boxer like Trout, or Lara won't end well many times. Is Cotto in his prime? Of course not, but the man is far from shot which seems to be the general consensus on NSB.

no it just shows how bad canelo is just like guerrero...a past prime cotto performed/gave a better account of himself than canelo did...

last night gave a big lesson: be careful to buy into the hype!

i've said it before numerous times..canelo is a GBP hypejob who has been gifted everything ..

even if he isn't shot, he looks out of his element at jr middle.

well being shot and being past your prime are 2 different things. He has some boxing years left in him but he's not in his prime anymore

I have been saying he isn't shot, just past prime. Probably beats Canelo

No he isnt shot, but he isnt a elite fighter anymore either, his best days are looooong gone. Comparing 1 fighter vs another vs another isnt a reflection of ones status in the fighting game.

Canelo isnt hyped either, he is a very talented kid who ran into the best fighter I have seen sense Roy Jones in his prime " Only Better "! Canelo was out matched and should never have taken that fight at anytime in his life................Floyd beat him handily last night, would beat him handily in 1 yrs, 2 yrs even 3 yrs from now.

Back to Cotto styles make fights, and Cotto was a better match-up then Alvarez was but if those two fought I pick Canelo easily............he is too big and too strong for Cotto! Cotto is a welterweight that moved up because the div was owned, dominated by Money!

Nope he's just not a natural light middle weight. If he was dedicated enough and had a good nutritionist i'd say he could have a second welterweight run.
