It looked to me more like Matthysse went down on his own trying to protect himself due to the spot he was in. Not saying that is was a coward move or anything, just saying he probably took the dive to avoid some real damage. Only he would know!
Anyone think that knockdown on lucas was kinda odd?

That's what I mentioned a little above your post

thats not what i was talking about, i was talking about the fact that he threw him on the ropes and that got him tangled, im just pointing out something that was odd, how am i hater? lolComment

If that had had of happened, do you think it would have been unfair for Lucas to have got the decision?Comment

if you look at the replay it wasnt really a knockdown just more off balance and getting tangled in the ropes nothing solid ever landedComment

Exactly how I see it.When Lucas got thrown into the ropes, the ref should have been in there to break the action. It was not Matthysse's fault or even Danny's fault. As soon as he got stuck in there, the ref should have been there.
That was a ref failure. To me it was not a legit knockdown. Matthysse was trapped and had to go down to avoid taking more shots. He was not hurt.
Does anyone know the official rule when it comes to getting tangled in the ropes? I am certain I have seen refs stop it most of the time but then I remember Morales giving it to Pacquaio in the first round of their first fight while he was tangled up.Comment

I was being sarcastic. I'm not talking about any punch. There was no punch behind the head.
Lucas ducked underneath right hand and Garcia turned him into the ropes, side stepped him scored the knockdown.Comment

DG pushed him into the ropes and Matt was tangled, then as Matt was losing balance DG hit him with a short shot on the top of the head that ensured Matt fell. I think it was definitely a toss-up type knockdown. I don't think it should have counted, but DG technically did hit him and he fell.
Weeks was putrid in this fight. Very disappointed in his performance.
Much props to Swifty. He showed poise, terrific hand speed (where did that come from?), great combinations and a chin made of adimantium. I hope he moves up to 147 and takes on all the beast in that division. Rematch with matt at 147 in 1 year.Comment
