Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia Says Welterweight Move is Likely Next

WBA/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs) is likely heading up in weight. Danny plans to go to the welterweight division after beating most of the top names at 140-pounds - including Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Erik Morales and now Lucas Matthysse.

He looked a little too thin at the weigh in. He probably needs to move up from necessity, not just for better fights.

Wow. You got Guerrero, Alexander/Khan, Maidana, Thurman, Broner etc.

We got tons of great fights coming up over the next few years.

Of course he is! You already had showtime commentators talking about a possible Garcia Mayweather fight. Awful fight in my opinion. But Garcia can definitely make a case by taking on a Ortiz, or another one of the top WWs.

Beating Lucas is greater than beating Ortiz bro.

Good fights.....no belts available though... unless he goes for Mayweather. One fight at WW and then he'll get a Mayweather shot.
Mayweather will probably fight the Khan/Alexander winner then

Pretty amazing huh?..GREAT for Boxing and without depending on the HeavyWeight Division to carry the sport. Time's are a changing for sure!

147 is starting to look really solid now. There are a lot of great fights there for Danny. Even with Pac, Floyd, and JMM leaving the sport soon there's still some very talented fighters around. There may be no superstars but the talent is evident. I would love to see Danny and Broner down the line. That can turn out to be a big fight.

Make Garcia vs Guerrero. I can't wait to see Ruben and Angel going at it. Oh and Danny vs Robert should be a good scrap too.
