It's the Canelo syndrome all over again. People want to match Floyd with a bigger and stronger guy at a higher division to see if he can get the job done since nobody has the skills/blueprint to do it.

Floyd is going for the money fights, Thurman sadly doesn't bring that as it stands

If Broner beats Maidana and then he beats someone else like Ortiz, I can see people calling for that fight

For a change Floyd wud be the one being supported

And who is Stevens? Has he ever won a belt? No, he has three losses and he's a contender. Of course Golovkin is gonna win. Stop acting like that's a legit challenge.

            Very true

I rather see Floyd fight people who can keep up with him, who are light as he is, and who can throw fast. Big guys just aren't going to make 154 or 152 and also they are simply to slow for him.

Zab gave Floyd hell back in the day because he was fast and compact

Pac, Khan, Broner, Devon, have fast hands

Sam Langford weighed just 156 when he fought for the world heavyweight title against a natural heavyweight Jack Johnson.

Harry Greb was a middleweight who fiought heavyweights.

If Mayweather really is an all-time great like those guys, there's no reason he can't fight someone a little bigger than himself like Golovkin, without a catch weight.

As much as I'm not a fan of Lyle Fizsimmons' writing, he was mostly right in his Mayweather vs Golovkin article. I don't even understand why this fight is in discussion. GGG has never fought below 160 and barely has any credentials of note at 160 for Mayweather to prove anything by fighting him there.

He MUST weigh within 4-5 lbs of the weight, if I'm not mistaken.

GGG is a genuine middleweight. If people were complaining of 2 pounds affecting Canelo - imagine dropping an entire weight class.

If Floyd moves up - he realistically cannot make the 160 weight. Unless you want to see Fat Albert in the ring with Gennedy, Floyd won't be fighting at middleweight anytime soon. He only weight 150.5 for a 152 contest. Where'll the other 9.5 pounds come from?

Look at Khan, Garcia, and maybe even Pacquiao. Don't expect Martinez or Golovkin, unless you'd like to see them starve to make 154 (or any other catchweight Mayweather might request).

In any case - great win by Floyd tonight.
Oscar fought as a super feather weight and moved all the way up to middleweight to fight Hopkins who was a lot better than anyone now.

Duran once fought as a featherweight and moved all the way up to middleweight to fight Hagler who was a lot better than any middleweight now.

The excuses amaze me! We know Floyd only fights sure wins but don't try to make excuses for it.

Look at my avatar. Look at my signature.

I'm a huge Manny fan - but I have to be realistic. BOTH Floyd and Manny don't have the frames to move up to middleweight, unless they decide to bloat up and get out of shape.
