For everyone talking s@@@t about canelo just remember he beat trout! Yea it was a close fight but he did win that fight and knocked trout down for the first time in he's career! Trout beat cotto the same year that cotto gave a good fight against Mayweather ! So that has to mean something ! Canelo stepped up and fought the winner of the cotto n trout fight! Canelo will make Mayweather work hard for those 40million plus check he will receive !! War canelo!!!

I don't think Canelo would beat Lara to be honest, but it's a good fight to make.Comment

He is in the fight no doubt. Floyd is not quite a puncher in my book but he can definitely put hands on you. It's not impossible for Floyd to stop Canelo in the late gas out rounds. Canelo is going to fight his A game tonight though and will make this a great fight. He may suprise everyone and be strong down the stretch of the fight (though I still just can't see that happening). He already suprised many by making 152 so easily and atleast mentally taking away the percieved advantage. He was fighting unheard of guys prior and his biggest win was a Commonwealth title , the point is he could really fight in spite of his age and resume , don't get all hooked up over weight classes in a fighters " early " career , they often bring older experienced guys from smaller divisions to school young prospects without them being able to hurt the prospect , Canelo stepped up a notch last fight and proved he can handle top class big guys , Floyd is a great little guy .
Because of size youth etc , Canelo is in the fight that's all Im saying , I don't think it wise to sleep on him .Comment

I love how Trout became a bum over night as soon as Alvarez beat him. Trout is a far better win than any of Mayweather's recent opponents. Alvarez is 23 years old and has a very decent resume. He may not win tonight but to write off his skills and accomplishments is just silly. He's 23 and Mayweather's most dangerous opponent in years - respect that.Comment

As I noted in the piece, for those who scoff at Chavez comparisons, it's at least worth noting he's faced FAR tougher comp at almost the exact same development stage. Difference in 44th fights is one fought the pretty good Mario Martinez.I love how Trout became a bum over night as soon as Alvarez beat him. Trout is a far better win than any of Mayweather's recent opponents. Alvarez is 23 years old and has a very decent resume.
