Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz-Lateef Kayode Discussed For Pacquiao-Rios

BoxingScene.com has been advised that a clash between Andy Ruiz Jr. (20-0, 14KOs) and Lateef Kayode (18-0, 14KOs) is being discussed for the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios televised pay-per-view undercard that takes place in Macau, China on November 23rd.

The fight would be Kayode's first in the heavyweight division after spending his entire career campaigning as a cruiserweight.

Ruiz has been active, fighting three times this year while Kayode hasn't fought since last June when he battled Antonio Tarver to a draw. The fight was later ruled a no contest when Tarver tested positive for a banned substance.

Too small, too big of a leap, a lamb being led to the slaughter. Lateef should test the waters, before getting into the deep end of the pool. Easy money for Ruiz, but no advance in ranking or boxing skill. Still.... It must be nice being a BIG man in China. Ruiz should take a camera.

Easy win for Ruiz. Typical Top Rank matchmaking.

How many fights do we have for the undercard so far? Televised portion at least.

Where have u been? Kayode's been on TV for 2-3 yrs now! He's a slow power puncher at Cruiser wt.

Ruiz was the Fat Mexican heavyweight at most of the toprank cards. No I'm not talking about Cris Arreola! that's a diff fat guy! Suprising this boy was actually good, he surprise me a lot with his speed and power!

From what I've seen, Ruiz is a solid hw - not yet contender, but on his way. This is a good fight for him. Not sure why Kayode's team would match him up against such a dangerous foe for his hw debut. Could be an interesting fight though
