As BoxingScene.com reported a few days earlier Turk Selcuk Aydin will face American veteran DeMarcus Corley on September 27 in Tekirdag, Turkey, in a fight made at jr welter.

This matchup caught many with surprise as there were indeed signed contracts for Aydin to take on Ignacio Mendoza. This became a done deal (contracts were according to boxen-heute.de signed before the show) when Aydin and Mendoza both won their respective fights July 27 in Cuxhaven on a Arena Box Promotion show. Mendoza won the vacant IBF jr welter title and his first defence would be against Aydin.

When I read the headline, I was really hoping to open the article and see that it was actually DeMarcus Corley Jr. No such luck.

Why AYDIN started at 30y to fight at jr.welterweight...boh??? Perhaps he will have a title shot,sooner or later!
