Kazuto Ioka recorded the second successful defense of his 108 lb. title with a 7th round stoppage of Kwanthai Sithmorseng in their main event Wednesday evening in Osaka, Japan.

The win is Ioka's third straight knockout since moving up to the 108 lb. division late last year. The 24-year old previously served as a 105 lb. titlist, winning the belt in just his 7th pro fight. [Click Here To Read More]

No, the Yaegashi fight was at strawweight and I don't think the ring belt was on the line. Ioka is currently at light flyweight and I think the light flyweight lineage ended with Segura moving up to flyweight. Any fight for the ring belt would need to include Roman Gonzalez at present as he is really the king at light flyweight. Ioka is certainly a force though.

Ioka will surpass Roman in skill by next year. Maybe I sound extremely biased but I used to think this kid was going to hit a wall. He hasn't.

Was their fight before or after the Ring Rating change. That's what I was really wondering... because he should have if it was after.
I can see a rematch at the end of the year

That fight was ****ing awesome. If they rematch I think Ioka takes it a second time but I'll be on the Yaegashi wagon all night long.

Japan needs to get their heads right and put Yaegashi/Ioka and Uchiyama/Miura on the New Years card.... biggest Japanese card of the year
