The Real answer should be "We BOTH AGREED TO THE CATCHWEIGHT" because that is what they did when they signed the contracts "AGREED"
Thats not the point. Canelo team did not bring up the weight issue, until after team Floyd disclosed their little comment to save face, pointing fingers, and tossing dirt to Canelo's management.

Thats a foul move to save face, no matter how you look at it.

They deserve all the criticism from the media, because they simply do not know when to keep their mouths shut.

All of you clowns who keep harping on the catchweight fail to mention the fact that Alvarez could have said no to the catchweight. He could have refused to fight unless Floyd fought him at 154.

According to some of you, Alvarez is the greatest thing since sliced bread and more popular than Mayweather. Therefore, he could headline a PPV on his own and attract 1 million PPVs against someone like Lara or Angulo just as Mayweather drew 1 million buys or more against nobodies like Robert Guerrerro and Victor Ortiz. Alvarez could fight a lesser opponent such as K-9 Bundrage or Ishe Smith and easily make $10 million like he is getting against Mayweather. After all, he is a huge star that 40,000 people will pay to see.

Except that none of this stuff is true. Alvarez may be popular among Mexicans and Boxing Scene posters, but he is not as popular as Mayweather, has never headlined a PPV, can't sell a PPV on his own and has never been paid as much as $3 million for a bout in his entire career. His proposed fight against Victor Ortiz was going to be on Showtime Championship Boxing, not PPV like Mayweather's. So, to sum it up, he had no choice but to accept the catchweight because just like everyone else between 140 and 154, he is on the outside looking in at Mayweather.

canelo's team did what they had to do in order to get the fight done.

what should have happened is that floyd who pretends to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, should have said no to the catch weight and INSISTED ON FIGHTING AT 154LBS were both are champs because IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE RIGHT THING TO DO and based on floyd's past words and logic, he should have detested the catchweight idea.

Its not like Canelo would say no to floyd not wanting a catchweight.

Instead they proved everybody right by being massive hypocritical cvnts and insisting on a catchweight and trying play it off on canelo wanting it.

        buncha dishonest repugnant scumbags.

Just like he wanted Hatton and Marquez at welterweight. He either bloated you up or drained you down.

Funny how you able to reverse the opposite. Just like your boy saying he will never do a catchweight. LMAO

Hey genius, Canelo and his team don't have a problem with he catch weight, they have a problem with Ellerbe making these absurd claims about Canelo asking for the catch weight.

What are you talking about? This discussion isn't about the weight, no one who's a someone on Team Canelo has complained about the catch weight publicly or privately afaik. This is about Ellerbe claiming Canelo and Chepo asked for the catch weight.

                      LOL at him being drained.
