Yes, I was around then-and before. One of the memories of that period which stick in my mind was the Curry-Honeyghan fight. Curry was regarded by the ringside ex[perts as unbeatable and I believe i recall someone saying something like this.

But there was a particular scene in the fight, which was repeated several times,... Picture this- Honeyghan's back was towards me and they were in close combat. What I saw were about 50 fists and arms flying, something like a revolving paddle wheel or a cartoon skit. I've never forgotten it. The display of energy was unbelievable. I believe that it was mostly Honeyghan. There was shock all round when it became clear that Curry was not coming out for that 6th round.

Funny imagery, Edgar. lol Reminds me of an old cartoon I once saw, with an octopus wearing eight boxing gloves. lol

I was aware of Tyson since I was a little kid but didn't truly follow the sport when I saw one of Trinidad's fights. I could not believe how much power this skinny kid had in his left hook.

I've watched a lot of the old boxing videos though.

Now that we see what's been going on, the best thing back then wasn't the free telecast. You knew the best were going to clash!

They probably would not have been regarded as the best at the time , not if every kid had a computer to hate on the ones he personally didn't like LOL ,

With the internet today nobody will get true recognition like they got in the old days , the haters are always there in droves to stop that from happening , there will never be another Mozart , Elvis , or the Beatles even though there are many better singers , the world doesn't allow domination anymore , its a case of my guy is better than yours .
