Valuev vs Beck - Don King is God

ONLY IN AMERICA!!! (Or Germany, I guess....)

Owen Beck, the guy who got KO'd by the incomparable Monte Barrett, has earned himself a shot at the WBA heavyweight title vs. Nic Valuev, a 7 foot nobody....

I guess this is Don's idea of a great kick-start to a sensational heavyweight "tournament" that'll probably never happen anyhow....

it's great that from 126-147 there are awesome fighters and great match-ups, but the heavyweight division is now lower than it was 10 years ago, when guys like Botha, Seldon, and Bruno had title belts

but guess what people??? Don King is LAUGHING at all of us!

because we're STILL gonna rant about a tourney, STILL gonna buy Mayweather-Judah, and STILL gonna pad his bank account

    thanx, i'm done now

Why is anyone surprised by this? This is the same **** that's been going on since Lewis retired. Beck on a good night is probably just as good as an unmotivated Rahman or Ruiz anyway. These guys all suck except for Wlad, Toney, Peter, and Brewster.

It's pretty bad, even someone like Maskaev would have been a better fight, Beck has not earned this at all.

I don't agree with that at all, i still think theres guys with much better talent out there, my guy Juan Carlos Gomez would be a much more deserved opponent for example, even Luan Krasniqi, who was beaten by Brewster, would be ahead of Beck.

is Luan Krasniqi a Don King fighter? NOPE!

is JC Gomez with Don King? NOPE!

All you gotta do is sign with DK, lose a few mid-level fights, and you'll get a title shot in no time!

living proof: Owen Beck, Andrew Golota, & Fres Oquendo, all 3 got title shots following losses to mid-level fighters

If I signed with DK tomorrow, I'd have a title shot by mid-Jine

Hey I'm not supporting it at all, I'm just not surprised one bit. I'm used to it by this point. I'd be upset if Brewster were fighting Beck but this is Valuev and King is behind him, so what can you expect?

This bull**** will continue for as long as boxing lacks a strong central organization to control and moderate it.

I was just pointing out that there are perhaps more talented guys out there than some people think. King is killing the heavyweight division with this bull****.

Pathetic why can't they make a fight with Brock or someone who somewhat deserves it at least.

great point, as much as I can't stand Teddy Atlas' rants about a national commission, having one would really help....

the closest thing we could have to that would be if Golden Boy signed up all of these fighters (since Oscar has a lot of $$$ to throw around, & isn't 73 years old like Arum & King), and started a World Boxing League....it would take about 10 years and about 100 million dollars, but it literally COULD be done, once DK and Arum are 6 feet deep

Don King has a son who is already promoting some fights. He'll just take over the empire once DK crocks. Don King is the devil, I tell you guys.
