Ouches! Any idea how long this sort of injury will take to fix? Could it spell the end for Burns?

a mate of mine just broke his jaw after being concussed three times in the past three weeks. he has to have surgery tommorow and a plate put into his jaw. they said that because of his jaw plus his his recent concussions he can never fight again because of the, what the docter said, 70% chance of dieing due to internal bleeding. feel extremely sorry for the bloke and hope he comes through well

Took me a few months before i could play football (soccer) again. I would have thought it take longer before he can consider taking punches.

Yup Burns is done with boxing for 2013. Probably start back in training early 2014.

No they shouldn't. They thought it was dislocated, and he really only complained with 4 rounds left. He still had a chance at that stage, and if he felt like continuing, he should. After all, he's a world champion.

i did say last night when i posted that beltran deserved to win,
but i gave credit to burns for showing real heart,
to be fair now looking at that x ray the credit i give him for his heart has increased, shows hes got bottle!
