Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn: No Robbery, Burns-Beltran Was Close Fight

GLASGOW, Scotland -- Ricky Burns withstood a broken jaw and being knocked down by Mexican challenger Raymundo Beltran to keep his WBO lightweight title after a controversial draw on Saturday. Burns never looked like he was winning his fourth defense of the lightly regarded title, and even he and his hometown fans were surprised when the result was announced. One judge gave it to Burns 115-112, another ruled Beltran won by 115-113, and the last scored it 114-114.

Wow. Good insight from an incredibly unbiased, 3rd party source.

If he sees this as a close fight then obviously he orchestrated it.

This was a bigger shocker than Pacquiao-Bradley because Beltran was on his case every second of every round!

Bottom line: Burns may be the WBO Champ but he is NOT the peoples Champ....Beltran is.
Shame on the Judges and the Promoter.

Beltran works with Memo Heredia, not great "people's champ" points.

It was a close fight scorecard wise as boxing is scored on 12 individual self-contained rounds but there should have been a clear winner in Beltran.

Well that is the only way to score a fight, round by round.

Provodnikov fcked up Bradley but Bradley still won more rounds and the fight. Burns didn't win the fight but he won at least enough to make it close.
