People were saying that around the time JM lost to Chris John and Rafa was tearing up Bantamweight. I never believed that because I had watched them both since they were at Forum boxing, and while Rafa did hit harder, JM had much better skill.

Ironically, Rafael was actually the name brand of the Marquez family when they started out. No one knew who the hell Juan was because Rafael was the guy on the come up and on TV at the time. Juan started racking up win after win and just kept climbing the ranks. He just has the intangibles that Rafael doesn't have and his body has held up much better as well.

I agree, Rafael has the power advantage but Juan has EVERYTHING else.
