it's a fallacy that a one point victory can't be clear. if a fighter clearly wins 7 rounds and the judges don't score it properly, that's just as much a robbery as if he had clearly won all twelve rounds.

i had beltran winning by a wider margin than that anyway.

Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know how to score a fight. Just because a fight was close doesn't mean it can't be a robbery.

I think the main issue was the ref.

If he took the point he should have that would be Beltran's fight.

Yeah, the ref deserves equal blame to the judge who had Burns winning. He allowed Burns to repeatedly and aggressively hold throughout the fight, pretty much every time Beltran got inside, without so much as issuing a stern warning. That's the only thing that kept Burns in the fight, imo. Beltran may very well have stopped him otherwise.
