Wonder did they use the money Bob had to build that stadium for this movie? ???? By the way, anyone know exactly where this stadium is being built at??...
I'm surprised that with your boxing keenness that you don't know. It was spread all over the news last year already. It will be between the New York and Monte Carlo casinos, both of which are owned by MGM.... on the Strip.
It is owned by MGM and built by the famous arena builders A.E.G. It should be ready in the next 2-3 years and will cost about $400 mill, holding 20,000. I think they've already begun the early stages.
That's as much info I can recall on this. I've written this several times already on here....
As for all that snide crap about "Arum's stadium" , it was never Arum's stadium, but it was a PRE-FAB MGM stadium proposed to Bob Arum if he could get the Pacquiao -Mayweather fight signed. It also would have held 20,000 seats and was to be errected on a 10 acre lot owned by MGM.
Arum's only connection with it was as above, and, because he'd been shown the blueprints, and was very interested in getting that fight signed, he gave it out as a bit of news during an interview. I recall one of the things he said was that it would give him the opportunity to have more cheap seats so that the fans who could never afford to see such a fight would be able to. I suppose all this crap will keep coming until he dies and then go into the usual Urban Legend Mythology.
That was ALL his connection with the MGM stadium. All the lies and taunts and deliberate malicious provocations were completely unknown to him because he pays no attention to little crappers like we have on BoxingScene.
It is the outright defamation and twisted contortions of facts against a person who doesn't deserve them, which causes me to attack those lies. I believe in FAIR PLAY, and ***s have been so unjustly and maliciously attacked with fatal consequences so much , that I, as a proud ***, must make my protests heard. I grew up in that very sordid disgusting atmosphere in Ireland, and it shaped my determination towards FAIR PLAY.
So if you don't like this, I'm sure that you know where to stick it...and then sit down on it.
From nothing to eatng once a day, sleeping on cardboard box in the street of Manila to became the only 8 divisions champ and 4 lineal champ on the planet, became a congressman adored by his people to be the future President of the Philippines.
Some idiots have the gut comparing his legacy to x-convicted imprisoned women beater makes me laugh.

Good read but these floydiots will just ignore this blinding fact and will continue their whining about when the Arum stadium will be completed.
