Would De La Hoya be appreciated more if he wasn't so popular with the ladies?

Anyways, no matter what they think of him, he obviously appreciates their clothing slightly more than average.
Lol three mins too late bud.
Oscar fought everybody, he was a tough guy but dressing up in fishnets is inexcusable!!!! Especially for a man who is in a sport full of warriors.

Maybe it's the fact he's been beaten on the biggest occasions, and never gives his opponent any props! Burned bridges with nearly every trainer he's had with the exception of Floyd Sr. Or the blatant bitterness towards Mayweather!

And he wasn't robbed against Tito, he gave away that fight then blamed his trainer, and I think he did lose against Sweet Pea, and Sturm!

He just comes across as a two faced prick, he has that politicians way of telling you things that you want hear!

And let's not forget his coked up pantyhose wearing ways!!

Doubtful. If anything he'd be more appreciated if he didn't dress like a lady.

So he was goofing around in fishnets for a laugh? What's the big deal lol, so much insecurity here.

It's only new "boxing fans" (mostly this site) that have no idea what a monster Oscar was in his prime & that he'd wipe the floor with everyone form 140-154 today EASY!

His only problem was the crossdressing, not his appearance

Seeing him in my teens with my pops and uncles they respected him as a fighter but always felt he was to much of a pretty boy. My sister loved him though.

So i guess yeah in a way some didnt like him cause of looks. I just thought he was a pretty good fighter

No! Most hardcore and casual fans appreciate Oscar and have a lot of respect for him. Oscar was a big star so of course there will always be haters out there but that had more to do with the fact that he was a major mainstream star. It doesn't matter who you are or what you look like. When you reach that level of stardom lots of people start thinking you're overrated and try to dismiss everything you do.

Hes underrated and under appreciated on here because most of the people on this site only started watching boxing after 2007. Prime Oscar was a beast, I agree with the poster that said he would destroy anyone today from 140-154 in his prime.
