Sure there was some government spending debauchery, but most of the unemployment is due to the slow adjusting nominal wages cause by Spain not being a an optimal currency area along with the tanking nominal spending. Real wages need to fall relative to the rest of the euro area, and the ECB's tight monetary policy is making things worst. Thinking bringing in the Olympics to Spain will do anything while ignoring the real problem is ******ed.
