It's a question about the early career KO ratio, which is something that can psychologically effect the opponents you face and sometimes make the fight easier for you. But Byrd was aware of Vitali's power so he trained to put on an excellent defensive performance which ultimately won him the fight. He basically made Vitali beat himself up, it was like an alternate version of Tyson Fury's self-targetted uppercut.

A legit thread and one that no Klitlicker can answer. Instead, resorting to name calling.

      Facts are facts.

Klitschko at the time was a former EBU champion and the current WBO champ, his best win was against WBO champion Herbe Hide who had only 1 loss against Rid**** Bowe.

Wilder is 29 - 0 and his best wins are against professional loser named Audley Harrison and Siarhei Liakhovich's corpse.

        Facts are facts.

It that good enough for you Princess Leia?

Uhm, not sure how much one can read into that.

Let's give it a try, nonetheless.

By his 29th fight Vitali was 28-1, apart from his loss to Byrd his most notable victories were the following

Herbie Hide , around 30-1 and WBO champ at the time, with a win over Tucker and his only defeat by the hands of Bowe. 28 years old.

Obed Sullivan , 35-5-1 at the time of the fight, 31 years old. A more than decent victory in the context.

For the rest nothing special, he defeated opponents like J. Francis and Monaco.

Wilder's best victories so far (29-0) are:

Siarhei Liakhovich, 31-5, but 40 years old, with a record of 2-3 before the Wilder fight. WBO Champion in 2006.

Audley Harrison, 31-6, previous gold medalist, but 41 years old.

Then Kertson Manswell, 23-4 at the time of the fight, Owen Beck 29-11, Daniel Cota 17-2 , etc.

Vitali fought better opposition, to be fair though he was 29 by the time of his 29th professional fight (one year older than Wilder) and had more experience in the amateurs.

Wilder seems to have more knock out power, but is rawer and still untested, it's really difficult to say how good (or how bad) he actually can become.

truth ... wilder's bums in a run ko ratio of what 28 or is it 29 now? is better than vitali's bum's in a run in ratio of 27. Vit fans will disagree of course but I don't see why since they are so obsessed with quoting stats and dominance figures and ignore quality of opponents.

So if Wilder beats Haye or Fury, then he's surpasses Vitali.

That's what I'm getting out of this thread.

                  Not really,

If Wilder beats the winner of Haye vs Fury in his next fight, then he's resume after 30 fights would be comparable to Vitali's at the same stage of his carrer.

In order to be better than Vitali, resume wise, he'd have to go on and win the Ring title , defend it a few times etc.

In order to be better than the current, (semi)retired version of Vitali , then yes, if he knocks out Haye or Fury I think he'd be favored to beat a 40-41 years old Vitali.

Klitschko fans love stats, until used against them.
